



The redevelopment of the Shotton Paper Mill in Deeside, North Wales, is a significant £1 billion project led by Eren Holding, a Turkish conglomerate. Acquired from UPM in September 2021, the site is being transformed into one of Europe’s most advanced paper production facilities, focusing on sustainable manufacturing and recycling. Adana Construction commenced work on the project in June 2023; to date we have completed over £100m of work on the project. Our scope of works has included installation of 90,000m3 of reinforced concrete, including 12,000T of reinforcement, falsework up to 16m high, 10,000m2 of high specification super flat concrete floors to DIN12802 and a blockwork package with a value exceeding £8m.
Adana’s current ongoing works on the project include: 5000 linear meters of drainage ranging from 100mm to 1200mm, 7000 linear meters of ducting, 6No oil separator tanks with capacity up to 90,000 litres, an M&E package, pumping stations and waste treatment plants.
